Late drama denies KCCA chance to go top

KCCA FC were three minutes away from hitting the summit before Onduparaka FC came from two goals down to force a 2-2 UPL draw at the MTN Omondi Stadium, Lugogo on Tuesday.

Emmanuel Oketch‘s late brace cancelled out Allan Okello and Moses Waiswa‘s strikes which seemed enough to catapult the Kampala based side above SC Villa to the top of the table.

KCCA had absolute dominance in the first half in terms of possession but lacked the cutting edge as it ended goalless at halftime.

They however returned to the second half animated and got an opener through Waiswa’s freekick, before Okello made it 2-0 with a wonder strike of his own.

Onduparaka still had time to fight with Oketch netting in the 87th and 92nd minute to freeze Lugogo, on an already chilly evening.

The result leaves KCCA second with 45 points, one adrift of Villa who take on tricky side Maroons FC in Luzira.

The Kasasiro Boys will look to make things right instantly when they visit nemesis Vipers SC on Saturday at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

Meanwhile, Onduparaka stayed rock-bottom with just 15 points and will resume their survival fight against Vipers on 12th May at the Ababet Greenlight Stadium.
