Lugazi FC has officially announced the signing of highly-rated attacking midfielder Hussein Ssenoga from Buganda Regional League side Free Stars FC.
The flexible midfielder has agreed to a one-year contract with the Uganda Premier League club, and he will begin training with his new teammates immediately.
In his first interview with the club, Ssenoga expressed his excitement and gratitude for the opportunity to play at a higher level.

“I feel really excited and grateful to have joined this club,” Ssenoga said. “I have worked really hard in my career to be here, and I’m looking forward to getting on the pitch with this team.”
The 26-year-old’s enthusiasm reflects his journey and the hard work that has brought him to this point.
Ssenoga’s career began in 2011 with Free Stars FC, where he quickly made a name for himself as a talented and promising player.
His breakthrough season came when he was named Youngest Player of the Season, after scoring six goals and providing two assists in 28 appearances in the Buganda Regional League.
His early success laid a solid foundation for a career filled with notable milestones.
In 2014, Ssenoga moved on to The Saints Football Club, competing in the FUFA Juniors League, before his talent caught the eye of Hearts Kyebando United FC, a club in the Kampala Regional League.
At Kyebando United, he was named the club’s most influential player at the end of the season, further cementing his reputation as an emerging talent.
A return to Free Stars followed in 2017, where Ssenoga would go on to have an even more successful stint.
He played a key role in Free Stars’ campaigns, winning the team’s Player of the Season awards in both 2019 and 2020.
His exceptional performances caught the attention of top-tier clubs, and in 2022, he made the leap to the Uganda Premier League with Express FC, where he enjoyed two years of first-team football.
Ssenoga’s return to Free Stars at the start of the current season saw him continue to excel, contributing a remarkable nine goals and assists in just nine first-round games.
His creativity, vision from deep and knack for scoring make him a valuable addition to Lugazi FC’s midfield.
As Ssenoga embarks on this exciting new chapter in the Uganda Premier League with Lugazi FC, all eyes will be on him to see if he can replicate the form that has earned him widespread recognition in the UPL and regional league.
