It was a baptism of fire affair for the Nile Special Rugby Premiership newbies Walukuba Barbarians who went down to KOBs.

The upcountry side was walloped 76-0 on match day one of the league at Legends Rugby Club on Saturday.

Daudi Ssemwami opened the scoring for the Blue side and tries kept on raining in with the halftime break having the scoreboard reading 24-0.

The big win hand Joseph Aredo named the most valuable player who received a gong and cash from league sponsors Nile Special.

Walukuba are rock bottom on the log with KOBs sitting on top thanks to a bonus point win and a better points margin.

Away from Legends, across Jinja road at Kyadondo Rugby Club, home side Buffaloes defeated Rhinos 40-12 in another high scoring encounter.

Outside Kampala, on the shores of Lake Victoria, Plascon Mongers registered a slim 11-9 home victory against stubborn Rams in Entebbe.

Still outside Uganda’s Capital City, Jinja based Hippos fell 22-25 to Makerere Impis at the Dam Waters playground in Jinja city.
