2026 Uganda Rugby Premiership playoffs | QF | 2nd Leg | Saturday May 23
- KOBs Rugby Club 10-30 Impis Rugby Club
The 2026 Uganda Rugby Premiership playoffs delivered one of the season’s biggest shocks as Makerere Impis overturned KOBs to book a place in the semifinals.
Impis, who had lost the first leg 23-12 at the Graveyard in Makerere, produced a fearless performance at Legends Grounds to win 30-10 and eliminate the 13 time champions from the competition.

From the start, the university side played with intensity and belief. They matched KOBs physically, defended with discipline and attacked with purpose, slowly breaking down the visitors in front of an energized home crowd.

As the game wore on, Impis grew in confidence while KOBs struggled to respond. By the final whistle, the students had turned the tie around in style, sealing a famous victory and one of the standout upsets of the season.

The win continues Impis’ remarkable rise with a win against Heathens earlier. Only back in the top flight this season, they have quickly grown from underdogs into genuine contenders, showing resilience and quality throughout the campaign.

For KOBs, it was a painful exit from a season that began with hope under new leadership but ends without silverware.

Elsewhere in the quarterfinals, Heathens RFC matched their first leg energy and squeezed past Victoria Sharks 20-19 in a tense battle to reach the last four.
Buffaloes Rugby Club also advanced after drawing 21-21 with Plascon Mongers. Their 43-39 aggregate win, built on a strong first-leg result in Entebbe, proved enough.

At Kings Park, Black Pirates made light work of Walukuba Barbarians, winning 28-0 after already dominating the first leg 57-6.

Walukuba, despite earlier financial uncertainty around their participation, completed the fixture.
With all semifinalists confirmed, the Playoffs competition now moves into its decisive stage.
