Uganda Cranes forward, Farouk Miya scored a brace on his debut at Turkish second tier outfit Caykur Rizespor, less than a week after joining them.
The former Standard Liege player impressed in a friendly game that was played against FC Torpedo Kutaisi in Erzurum on Monday.
Miya signed a two-year contract with his new club, ending a club-less spell, having terminated his contract with Ukrainian side FC Lviv.
It is his second stint in Turkey having featured for Konyaspor in the Turkish Super Lig between 2019 and 2021.
On a mission of redeeming his career having been on a low for quite some time, Uganda Cranes will be the biggest beneficiaries for the firing attacking midfielder.
He was the shadow of his former self as the Cranes lost 2-0 and drew 1-1 against Algeria and Niger respectively, in this year’s Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers.
