Five time league champions Vipers SC have secured another player outside the Uganda Premier League in the services of Nigerian forward Abubakar Lawal.

The former AS Kigali marksman penned down a two year employment contract that will keep him at Kitende till 2024, at the least.

“I feel happy and at home. They have showed me love ever since l arrived here,” Lawal rumbled while speaking to the Club’s Media in his first interview.

“I’m here to give my best. I know the club hasn’t been in the CAF Champions League group stages. So, I am here to help and fight to make that dream come true.”

He joins six others to be unveiled in the summer window, including Alfred Macumu Mudekereza, Olivier Omadjondo Osomba and Isa Mubiru.

The others are Ashraf Mandela, Marvin Joseph Youngman and Uganda Cranes speedster, Abdu Lumala.

The Kitende side continue strengthening ahead of a long season that will have them take part in the FUFA Super Eight, CECAFA Kagame Cup, CAF Champions League, Uganda Premier League and the Uganda Cup.

Lawal is viewed by many as the possible replacement for last season’s top-scorer Cesar Manzoki, who has attracted interest from across the continent.
