In a season to remember, Uganda’s Phiona Nabulime has etched her name in FC Masar history, becoming the latest Crested Cranes to lift the Egyptian Women’s Premier League title, following the trail blazed by Shadia Nankya and Aisha Nantongo.
Just three months after making her debut for the Egyptian giants, the former Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC captain has added a second major title to her growing list of achievements.
Her contribution was pivotal as FC Masar edged Zamalek 1-0 to seal the league crown with one match to spare, reaching 70 points, five ahead of Al Ahly.
Nabulime, who joined Masar as a direct replacement for Nankya following her move to the United States, has quickly become an integral part of the team.

Switching seamlessly between central defense and midfield, she brought composure, leadership and versatility that strengthened Masar’s core.
This title marks her second in the 2023/24 season, having earlier led Kawempe to the FUFA Women Super League title in Uganda before her move north.
FC Masar’s dominance this season has been emphatic, 119 goals scored, only six conceded, and an unbeaten run they aim to extend in their final clash against Al Ahly on Friday.
The focus will then shift to the 2025 CAF Women’s Champions League, where the club hopes to build on last year’s bronze medal finish.
