Uganda Netball team, the She Cranes have been dented a huge loss after shooter Stella Oyella suffered a knee injury with her club Strathclyde Sirens.

The Scottish club confirmed the ugly developments in the aftermath of their game with the Celtic Dragons, making it public knowledge she’ll sit out for the remainder of the season.

“We are sad to announce that Stella Oyella has been ruled out for the remainder of the season due to ACL rapture.”.

Oyella had been expected to be a key pillar in the She Cranes’ team at the July-August Netball World Cup slated for Cape Town in South Africa.

Alongside Peace Proscovia and Mary Nuba, Oyella is the third Ugandan plying her trade in UK’s top-flight league, the Vitality Netball Super League.

She featured at the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, England helping Uganda to fifth.
