National Insurance Company (NIC) Netball Club head coach Rashid Mubiru was left frustrated by the umpires’ decisions throughout the game his side lost to Fred Mugerwa’s KCCA Netball Club.
The game ended 40-39 with KCCA Netball Club winning it with the last throw after a hard fight from the throw-off.
KCCA started the game on high tune, dominating NIC in the first two quarters, but NIC nearly turned the game around by shooting 9 goals without a response from KCCA.

The 9 goals led NIC to a 35-31 lead midway through the third quarter but KCCA regained the nerves to level at 35-35, and that followed with goal-for-goal on two occasions, NIC keeping ahead, but KCCA changed the rhythm to lead 38-37, and they kept the momentum to win.
Losing to KCCA after a long span, Mubiru was discontented by the umpiring.
“The umpires’ performance was below impressive, a lot of fouls were not called due to the umpires’ poor positioning, and it seems that they have not updated themselves with the new rules of the game.”
Meanwhile, NIC defender Nasim Mutesi has warned other teams in line to face her side.
“It is very bad to lose to KCCA but it means nothing in the title race. They can’t win the league, we are going to come back stronger and anyone who comes our way is finished.”
NIC shall return to action next weekend while taking on Uganda Prisons in another big clash as Prisons start their title defense.
