The 4th edition of the Swans Beach Touch Rugby Against Cancer Festival has been rescheduled from Saturday, 3 October 2026, to Saturday, 10 October 2026, at Aero Beach, Entebbe.
The decision follows consultations with key rugby and festival stakeholders and allows for the conclusion of other important activities on the local rugby calendar, particularly the Kampala 7s and core status qualifiers scheduled for 3 October.
The new date gives the wider rugby fraternity an opportunity to conclude its competitive commitments and then come together as clubs, players, officials, and fans for a cause bigger than the game.
“We recognise that this change may require adjustments, and we sincerely appreciate the flexibility of everyone who has already committed their time, resources, and support to Season 4,” a statement from Swans Sports Club partly read.
It went on to assure all stakeholders and service providers that all confirmed team registrations, invitations, and partnership commitments remain valid for 10 October 2026. All other festival arrangements remain unchanged.
Importantly, at the heart of the festival remains the commitment to using sport to promote healthier communities, as participants and members of the public will have access to free cancer screening and awareness programs.
“The date has changed. The cause has not. On 10 October, we invite the entire rugby family and wider community to play, get screened, have fun, and stand together against cancer,” noted Regina Hellen Lunyolo, Project Lead.
