Winning is a habit that never dies, but making a lasting impact is what earns a place in the history books.

On Sunday evening, KCB Bank powered Kampala Old Boys Rugby Club (KOBs) wrote another chapter in their storied legacy, becoming one of the few clubs to be crowned Kyabazinga 7s champions.

The milestone was secured at Bugembe Stadium in Jinja, where KOBs capped off a dominant, undefeated run by defeating Makerere-based side Rams RFC in the final. With the victory, the Blue Army claimed their first tournament circuit title of the 2026 Uganda Rugby 7s Series.

KOBs opened their campaign on Saturday in Pool C with a hard-fought 17–10 win over Rams RFC, followed by a 31–21 victory against the Mbale Elephants. They sealed top spot in the pool by beating Plascon Mongers 19–10 to advance smoothly to the knockout stages.

When Sunday’s knockout action got underway, KOBs delivered a convincing 26–7 quarterfinal victory over the Plascon Mongers. They then edged out Bweyogerere-based Black Pirates 12–5 in a tense semifinal to set up a final clash against Rams RFC.

The title decider proved to be another tightly contested thriller, with KOBs holding their nerve to secure a 22–19 victory and lift the Kyabazinga 7s trophy.

Across all six matches, KOBs demonstrated remarkable consistency, scoring 127 points and conceding just 72 over a flawless weekend.

Attention now turns to the final stop of the series next weekend at Wankulukuku, where KOBs will aim to build on their Jinja success and close out the campaign on a high note.
