The 2026 Pearl of Africa Uganda Rally received a major boost after Rubis Energy Uganda, in partnership with Castrol, announced sponsorship of CRS Racing ahead of this year’s event in Mbarara.

The sponsorship was unveiled at the RUBiS Kakoba Service Station in Mbarara, with Kenyan rally stars Jasmeet Chana and Ravi Chana set to headline the team’s campaign in Uganda.

The Chana brothers arrive in strong form after impressing at the WRC Safari Rally, where they claimed a Kenya National Rally Championship category victory despite difficult conditions.

Driving their Ford Fiesta Rally2, the pair now turn their focus to one of Africa’s toughest rally events.

Known for its rough red-soil roads and unpredictable weather, the Pearl Rally will once again test both drivers and machines across the districts of Mbarara and Kiruhura.

This year’s edition has attracted a record 65 crews, making it one of the strongest fields in recent years.

For Rubis Energy Uganda, the partnership reflects a commitment to performance, endurance and reliability, qualities the company believes CRS Racing represents.

Speaking at the launch, Rubis Energy Uganda Managing Director, William Fillet said the partnership is about supporting excellence in motorsport.

“Motorsport is the ultimate test of performance, precision and resilience,” Fillet said. “Our support for Jasmeet and Ravi Chana reflects our commitment to backing champions who continue to perform at the highest level.”

The sponsorship also strengthens the existing partnership between Rubis Energy and Castrol in regional motorsport while increasing the brands’ visibility among Uganda’s growing rally audience.

As the rally continues from May 7 to 10, fans will closely follow CRS Racing on popular stages such as Kaguta and Ankole Cow, where the Chana brothers hope to challenge for top honours.

The partnership is another step in its growing investment in African motorsport and its drive to associate with high-performance competition.
