Ssingo secured a convincing 2-0 victory over Kyaggwe in a heated battle at Mityana Ssaza ground, extending their winning streak to three games.

Joseph Ssewaali and Shaban Kayongo found the net in either half, propelling Ssingo to the top of the Muganzirwazza group with a record of 10 points from 4 matches, registering 3 wins in row beating Gomba, Kooki and Kyaggwe.

Both Ssewaali and Kayongo have now netted 3 goals in 4 games, placing them at the top of the scorers’ chart. Kayongo has impressively scored in 3 consecutive matches.

Ssingo’s Head Coach, Simon Peter Mugerwa, expressed his belief in his team’s potential to lift the trophy.

“From the outset, I’ve emphasized the importance of hard work. Our sole objective at Ssingo is to win the 2024 Masaza Cup,” declared Mugerwa.

Meanwhile, Kyaggwe Coach Steven Mutono acknowledged their shortcomings. “We were defeated due to a combination of factors. Our scouting on Ssingo was inadequate, and we underestimated them,” admitted Mutono.

Ssingo’s chairman, Ronald Ssekajja, rallied the team’s supporters, emphasizing their championship aspirations. “The past four years have been dedicated to building a strong team, and this year, we have the best squad in the competition. We are ready to win, and I am grateful to our fans whose support fuels our drive towards victory,” stated Ssekajja.

Ssingo currently leads the Muganzirwazza group with 10 points, with Kabula (9 points in Masengere group) being their closest competitor. Kyaggwe remains in second place in the Muganzirwazza group despite their defeat, with 7 points.
