Uganda Premier League side URA FC have ditched assistant head coach Baker Mbowa from his role, nine months since he assumed the seat.
Mbowa was made head coach, Sam Timbe‘s assistant in April 2022, but URA’s poor first half of the 2022/23 campaign has forced the club into major technical bench reshuffles.
“We wish to announce that Baker Mbowa has been relieved of his duties as assistant coach at URA FC with immediate effect,” partly said a Monday statement from the club.
“For now, Timbe remains head coach and his new assistant will be named very soon,” revealed the statement.
The Tax Collectors are in the middle of a dismal season as they currently lie 11th on the 15-team table with only 14 points in just as many outings.
URA failed to register a victory in each of their last seven games, as they lost twice and endured five stalemates.
For the entire first round this season, they have only won two times, managing eight draws and have suffered four losses.
The team’s winning rate represents an absolute mockery- a poor 14%, which is one of the worst in the league, along with Onduparaka FC.
