On Wednesday, it was stamped that National Insurance Corporation (NIC) Netball Club will not lift this year’s title.

This was confirmed by a loss to arch-rivals Prisons Netball Club with one game to end the season.

Prisons had perfect revenge yesterday at Kamwokya Community Sports Center with a 50-42 win.

Now, NIC can’t claim the title even if they win their last game on Saturday against Weyonje Netball Club.

They have 34 points, three behind the table leaders KCCA and their Assistant Coach, Ali Mugisha believes it’s their making.

Yesterday, he mentioned the limited training time and the departure of the key players as the two key problems.

“We have had little training time at Makerere grounds this season. Now, the club is looking for another option or make a better MOU with Makerere University.”

“However, the season is indeed a success because we didn’t expect to reach this far because we lost our senior players,” he added.

The likes of Joan Nampungu, Stella Oyella, and Desire Obua all match winners departed Uganda’s most successful netball club.

League action returns this Saturday at Kamwokya Community Sports Center with five games on the menu.

WEDNESDAY RESULTS:
Weyonje 40-34 UPDF
Weyonje 44-32 Africa Renewal University
KCCA 52-51 UCU Angels
NIC 42-50 Prisons
