Former KCCA FC and Uganda Cranes playmaker Allan Okello has completed his move to the Uganda Premier League reigning champions Vipers SC.

Okello has penned down a three-year employment contract to join the Venoms and will don the shirt number 8 jersey.

This comes after the player terminated his contract with Paradou AC this month to become a free agent.

The 23-year-old had joined Paradou AC football club in 2020 on a long-term four-year contract from KCCA FC, but spent last season on loan at Lugogo.

Last season, Okello netted 5 goals and registered 8 assists in the Uganda Premier League at KCCA FC.

Vipers SC fans will have to wait for Okello’s debut for the Kitende-based club since the player will first undergo treatment on a knee injury.

After signing for the Venoms, Okello expressed his happiness for joining the team.

Player Profile

Okello rose to the scene in 2017 when he made a statement scoring a hat-trick and making an assist on his senior team debut when KCCA FC defeated Onduparaka FC 7-0 in Lugogo.

In 2019, Okello won the FUFA male player of the year award for his unmatched performance. He played 119 games at KCCA FC and scored 39 goals and a couple of assists.

At KCCA FC, he also won two Uganda Premier League championships in the 2016/17 and 2018/19 campaigns respectively, two Uganda Cups in the 2016/17 and 2017/18 seasons as well as the 2018 FUFA Super 8 Cup and the 2018/19 CECAFA Kagame Cup.

With Uganda Cranes, Okello made his debut in 2019 against Somalia and has gone on to play over 10 games.

Vipers have already signed David Bagoole, Fumador Asiwome and Mohamed Salem Ekbad, Grant Matsiko, Richard Matovu, Patrick Paul Mbowa, and Ibrahim Orit in the ongoing transfer window.
