Nkumba University head coach Sulaiman Bbosa has expressed positivity that his side will go all the way and finish top of Group B in the 2022 Pepsi University Football League.
The tactician was all fired up in the aftermath of Nkumba’s 2-0 victory over the University of Kisubi in Entebbe on Monday.
“We have so far played four games and won three and we have nine points, we have brightened our qualification chances.”
“As it stands we need to win the remaining two games, we shall continue taking it step by step, and hopefully we can top the group,” Bbosa noted.
Biko Bage and Anthony William Amure scored the two second-half goals as Nkumba completed a double over Kisubi given that the former defeated the latter away from home in the corresponding fixture.
Kisubi also finished the game with ten men after Zaxious Kibirige was shown a red card in the last quarter of the game.
Victory for Nkumba left them in second place level on nine points with leaders Makerere University Business School who have a better goal difference and a game in hand.
Kisubi remained third on three points while Muni University who has no point but has a game in hand is bottom of the group and both teams are nearly out of the competition.
Action in the University League will return on Wednesday with a Group D contest between St. Lawrence University and Mbarara University of Science and Technology at Crown City Campus, Kavule.
