Uganda Premier League | Tuesday | MD 26

  • BUL 4-0 Lugazi
  • Vipers 1-0 UPDF
  • KCCA 2-1 Police

The Uganda Premier League heated up this Tuesday with crucial victories for BUL FC and KCCA FC while Vipers SC edged closer to clinching the title with a hard-fought win.

  • BUL FC dominate Lugazi with ruthless display

BUL FC showcased their attacking firepower with a resounding 4-0 win over Lugazi FC at the FUFA Technical Centre in Njeru. The Eastern Giants completed a league double over their opponents in emphatic fashion with Karim Ndugwa stealing the spotlight by netting a brace.

Ndugwa opened the scoring in the 26th minute and doubled BUL’s lead shortly after halftime with a thunderous header.

Ibrahim Orit, fresh from his goal in the previous match, weaved through the Lugazi defense to score a sensational third before Hilary Onek sealed the win with a rebound finish in the 69th minute.

The victory cements BUL’s position in third with 49 points, while Lugazi, stuck in 11th, continue to struggle for consistency.

  • Vipers inch closer to title glory

At Kitende, Vipers SC battled past a resolute UPDF side with a narrow 1-0 win to stretch their lead at the top of the table.

Substitute Gusto Mulongo proved to be the difference-maker, heading home in the 73rd minute after a spilled free-kick from Allan Okello.

Despite dominating possession and chances, the Venoms were repeatedly denied by UPDF’s goalkeeper Richard Anyama.

Vipers’ perseverance finally paid off, pushing them to 62 points, eight ahead of nearest rivals NEC FC.

With the title in sight, the Venoms now turn their attention to the Uganda Cup semi-final against Kitara.

  • KCCA keep climbing with second straight win

KCCA FC continued their late surge with a 2-1 win over Police FC at the Phillip Omondi Stadium. Shafik Nana Kwikiriza put the hosts ahead early before Umar Kasumba equalized from the spot.

But Arafat Usama’s second-half strike ensured all three points remained in Lugogo.

Police’s hopes of salvaging a point faded when goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga was sent off late in the game. The win moves KCCA up to fifth with 40 points while Police sit 12th on 30 points.

Uganda Premier League action will continue on Wednesday, April 30, 2025.
