Uganda Premier League record holders Sports Club Villa pushed further their positive run to three victories on the bounce after comfortably dispatching UPDF 2-0 over the weekend.

The Jogoo were efficient on the evening in Lira as Charles Baale and Ivan Bogere netted in either half at the Aki Bua Stadium.

The result guided Villa to fourth with 23 points on the 15-team log. They tie with runners-up Vipers SC and third-placed BUL FC, while they’re only 2 points adrift of leaders KCCA FC.

On the other hand, UPDF were condemned to a sixth defeat in the last nine games. The army side has not won a single match in that time, as they have also managed three stalemates.

They lie 13th with just seven points after 12 games and lie only a point from safety. In 14th, Busoga United have six while bottom side Onduparaka FC is on four.

Villa will hope to make it four successive victories in their next fixture as they visit URA FC at the Nakisunga Saza Grounds on 17th of December.

Three days earlier though, UPDF will play host to another army side, Gadaffi FC at the Bombo Military Barracks Grounds.
