URA FC will be keen on making a perfect return to Mehta Stadium, Lugazi when they lock horns with a seemingly rejuvenated Busoga United in the Uganda Premier League on Saturday.
The Tax Collectors announced a return to the ‘den’ over a week ago, after six years away from a ground they enjoyed considerable success.
“It’s another important game against Busoga United that we want to win to continue with our good run,” head coach Sam Timbe told the club media.
Since the 2016/17 campaign, URA has trekked for a home; from Mandela National Stadium, Arena of Visions Ndejje, and their most recent hood, Nakisunga Saza Grounds.
Preparations for the Busoga test
On their return to their fans, Timbe has underlined they have worked tirelessly hard for maximum points against a side that has won their past two league matches.
“We know it won’t be an easy game and have had enough time to prepare. The mood in the camp is good. We can only hope for victory.”
URA has beaten Onduparaka FC 2-0, Express FC 1-0, and BUL FC 1-0 in their past three games.
Busoga has also won their last two matches; 2-0 at Blacks Power FC and 1-0 against UPDF FC.
And, the taxman and forward Joshua Lubwama wants the team to use their home advantage to get three points.
“We are taking one game at a time and it’s now Busoga United in our line. We want to continue winning and everyone is set for the game. Being at home will be vital and we shall do our best to ensure we win.”
Previous encounters and notable absentees
The previous nine meetings between the pair have seen URA win five times, with two draws and as many defeats.
The hosts won 4-0 away from home when the two met in the first round.
A brace from Kabon Living, plus a goal apiece from Derrick Nsibambi and George Ssenkaaba did the job.
Timbe will be without the services of captain and goalkeeper Nafian Alionzi, plus defender James Begisa.
Both players are currently on international duty with Uganda Cranes.
