Ngabi Nsamba got the 2023 Bika Bya Baganda tournament off to a positive note after a comfortable 3-1 win over Nkima at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wankulukuku on Saturday.
The match that was graced by His Majesty, Kabaka Ronald Muwenda Mutebi had Viane Ssekajugo net a brace, with another from Ivan Kamoga.
Ssekajugo, who plies for URA in the Uganda Premier League was on the score sheet in the 21st and 36th minute for a halftime victory.
Former KCCA FC midfielder Yasser Mugerwa, of Nkima was then shown an early exit, getting a 73rd-minute red card for elbowing Ngabi’s Paulista Muwonge.
Ngabi Nsamba have won three Bika Bya Baganda trophies in history; in 1951, 1987 and the final latest 16 years back in 2007.
Before the match, sponsor Airtel Uganda’s Sales Director Ali Balunywa expressed the pride the company holds in helping nurture talents along with Buganda.
