Buddo SS, Kyandondo SS, Greenlight Islamic, Bukedea, Amus secure early qualifications to round of 32

After keeping the perfect start of the USSSA U20 Boys football national championship, defending champion Buddo SS, Kyadondo SS Greenlight Islamic, Bukedea Comprehensive South, and Amus College are among the 12 teams with early reactions to this year’s round of 32.

After opening group A with successive wins 2-0 over Teso College Aloet and Masindi SS, the last season winner reached the knockout stage with a game to play against Kaserem SS.

In group E Kyadondo SS also kept it perfect after two games beating Jjinja Progressive 2-0 adding the result on a 2-1 win over Kigumba Intensive in their opener. Now they are waiting to take on Kalisizo seed in their final group game.

In Group F, Amus College roared strongly after opening up with a 4-0 win over Trinity College Abilomino, and on the second attempt, they managed to beat Standard High Ndejje   1-0.

As Amus College walks into the round of 32, Standard High Ndejje automatically walked into a classification after losing both games played so far living St Mark High School and Trinity Abilomino fighting for the second slot in the next competitive stage.

In group G, Singo SS proved to be bitter for opponents as they defeated Mengo SS 2-0 and Bishop Comboni 3-1 to overcome the group before playing against Ibanda SS

Group I remains the only group to get done with a remaining game as Namasa SS and Bukedea Comprehensive South are progressing while Host Lira Town College and PP Newton are getting humble to Classification race.

Greenlight Islamic Nansana have read go through group K having started with a heavy 5-1 win over Dr Obote College inspired by Shafick Ssegirinya with a hat trick and also won the game over Aringa SS 1-0 to reach four goals.

In group M last year number 6 Masaka SS have already reached the next stage of the championship with two wins over Lumino High School and Kitgum Standard.

In group N, Aiden College Ndejje continued to surprise with a commanding 5-0 win over Garama SS and a 2-1 win over Kazo Hill, becoming the 12th side to reach the knockout stage.

More than 20 teams shall join the stage on Matchday 3 of the 2026 championship schedule for May 13.
