At just 17 years old, James Bogere is already writing his name into Ugandan football history.

The young striker helped AGF Aarhus win the Danish Superliga title over the weekend, becoming the first Ugandan player ever to win Denmark’s top flight league.

AGF Aarhus had last won the Danish league about 40 years ago, with their latest triumph being the first title in four decades.

It is a remarkable rise for Bogere, who only joined AGF three months ago from El Cambio Academy.

Since moving to Denmark, the teenager has quickly settled into senior football and earned praise for his confidence, movement and finishing ability.

James Bogere finishing off a good chance he created for himself.

From the training grounds of El Cambio Academy to celebrating a league title in Europe, Bogere’s journey continues to excite Ugandan football fans.

The title win also means AGF will play in next season’s UEFA Champions League qualifiers, giving Bogere a chance to feature in Europe’s biggest club competition for the first time in his career.
