As a way of having the best possible preparations ahead of the African Nations Championships (CHAN), Uganda Cranes will be locked in a quadruple of friendly matches against top African nations and a European club.

Head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevich made it public knowledge that the Cranes will tussle it out with powerhouses Cameroon, Mali, Sudan and Switzerland Premier League club Lausanne FC.

“We shall be isolated in one camp in Tunisia for a set of friendly matches, so it’s not a tournament,” the Serbian confirmed to the media on Friday, after training at Kisaasi.

“We will focus on working on our final product against Sudan on January 03rd. We shall then play Cameroon that will give us a sense of Franco-phone Central African football,” he added.

“We shall also play Mali on January 08th and then play Switzerland Premier League club Lausanne, that will give us a sense of European football,” confirmed Micho.

Uganda faces tough Group B opposition as it’s in the company of Senegal, Ivory Coast and Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC).

However, Micho is convinced the preparations will be of help if they are to make it out of the group stages for the first time ever.

“We have a tough group with big sides but what matters is the kind of preparations and I trust this group of players (to compete).”

Micho’s charges will travel to Tunisia on Sunday before later making way to Algeria after the lined buildup games.
