Uganda Cranes head coach Milutin ‘Micho’ Sredojevich confirmed the team that will travel to Tunisia for a training camp, before connecting to Algeria for the African Nations Championships (CHAN).

Like in the provisional 35-man squad, the final 25-man has Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC taking the lion’s share for the number of players representing local teams.

The Venoms represented by young goalkeeper Jack Komakech, defenders Ashraf Mandela, Isa Mubiru and Hillary Mukundane.

Midfielders Siraje Ssentamu and forwards Milton Karisa and Najib Yiga have also made the cut.

However, team doesn’t include arguably the League’s best player Ibrahim Kasule ‘Baba’ who plies for Wakiso Giants FC.

The young forward has been in superb form in the first round of the Season, netting and assisting five times apiece, the second most goal contributions (10), with Nelson Senkatuka on 11, the only player with more.

Micho has also left out goalkeepers Mathias Muwanga, Emmanuel Kalyowa and Abdu Magada going for the young Komakech.

Other players left out include URA FC’s Saidi Kyeyune and KCCA FC star Muhammed Ssenoga Kagawa.

In the Tunisia camp, the team will feature in four buildup matches against Cameroon, Mali, Sudan and Switzerland outfit Lausanne FC.

Cranes are in Group B alongside Democratic Republic of Congo, Senegal and Ivory Coast. They play DRC in their first game at the 19 May Stadium, Annaba on January 14th.
