CHAN 2024 Draw: Uganda pitted in Group C

The CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) Draw was held at the Kenyatta International Convention Centre in Kenya Nairobi on Wednesday, 15 January 2025.

With all unveiled, the three traditional East African host sides Uganda, Kenya and Tanzania were placed in different groups

Uganda was placed at the heart of Group C alongside Niger, Guinea and two more countries that are yet to be confirmed labelled Q2 and Q1.

Kenya was pitted in Group A which many have termed as a group of death with Morocco, Angola, and two-time winners – DR Congo and Zambia.

Tanzania on the other side will face Madagascar, Mauritania, Burkina Faso and Central African Republic.

Group D saw favourites and defending Champions Senegal lined up alongside Congo Brazzaville, North Sudan and Nigeria.

Uganda was also represented at this significant event by former Cranes star and legend Hassan Wasswa, adding a touch of national pride as one of those who conducted draws.

Triplets Ghetto Kids, famed for their performances at the 2022 Qatar World Cup and 2023 CAF Awards also later on showcased the Pearl of Africa’s vibrant cultural heritage after the draw.

The CAF African Nations Championship (CHAN) will be played in August 2025.
