Uganda Cranes deputy skipper Khalid Aucho has pushed further his stay with Tanzanian Premier League defending champions Young Africans SC, for an additional two years.
The midfield colossus joined Yanga in 2021 and signed a two-year contract, following his exit from Egyptian outfit Misr el Makkasa.
With about six months left on the current contract, the two parties reached an agreement for an extension, according to the club’s official social media accounts.
Yanga President Hersi Said has time and again stressed Aucho’s importance to the team’s aspirations and during his visit to Uganda in 2022, he made it public knowledge a contract extension would be triggered in no time.
In his first season with the East African kingpins, Aucho won a domestic treble including the league, the FA Cup, and the Community Sheild.
At the moment, Yanga is top of the Tanzanian Premier League with 50 points, six ahead of nemesis and runners-up Simba SC.
