The late Ibrahim Buwembo has been described as someone who spent his entire life in football.
Buwembo died on Friday evening at Mengo Hospital after an illness and was buried on Saturday at Kyabadaza, Budde, Buwama.
Former Cranes and KCCA player Tom Lwanga revealed that he was hard working player during his playing days.
“He had good character and he knew what he wanted. When pushed for something he managed to get it. He is a good player who understood his football career,” noted Lwanga.
Buwembo who guided Cranes to the CECAFA Cup in 1992 featured for Express (1986-88), Coffee (1989-1993), Simba (1998), Express (2000-2003), Super Cubs (2005-2006), Burain of Oman (1993-1995).
He was a controversial player even after retiring from football.
Cranes legend Polly Ouma who also coached Buwembo reasoned that he was top wingers the country produced.
“He was disciplined and he always wanted to learn. He knew what direction to take if he was to be a better player,” noted Ouma.
