Ismaili Community CC won by 93 runs

Wanderers Cricket Club endured a tough afternoon at the Entebbe Cricket Oval on Sunday, falling by 93 runs to a sharp and confident Ismaili Community CC in the Cricket Uganda Men’s National League Silver Category.

In a match of revised Overs, after winning the toss and opting to bowl, Wanderers hoped to restrict their opponents early, but Ismaili Community CC quickly took control and never let go.

L-R: Wanderers CC Captain- Ivan Kakande, Umpire Emmanuel Kamya and Ismaili Community CC Captain Junaid Khan at the toss.

Batting first, Ismaili posted a strong 191/7 in 29 overs, powered by a superb century from Shehzad Khan. He struck 106 off 84 balls, guiding the innings with control and purpose.

Imtiaz Ali added a calm unbeaten 31, while Junaid Khan contributed 18 to push the total to a challenging mark.

Wanderers’ bowlers had some reward. Eric Mukisa led the effort with three wickets, while Arthur Magwa, Julius Okema and Rudra Prajapati picked up one each. Still, the total proved too heavy.

The chase collapsed almost immediately. Wanderers were rocked to 3 for 3 in the opening overs and never recovered.

Rudra Prajapati tried to steady things with 25, while Ivan Kakande added 24, but wickets kept falling and pressure kept rising.

Ismaili’s bowling attack stayed on top throughout. Juma Miyaji and Junaid Khan took two wickets each, while Nazim Punjwani and Ghulam Hunzai also claimed two apiece to finish the job. Wanderers were bowled out for 98 in 23.1 overs.

The win keeps Ismaili Community CC unbeaten and top of the Silver Category with five points from five matches.

Juma Miyaji was named Player of the Match for his impact with the ball.

Elsewhere, the Silver Category match between Nile CC and Kutchi Tigers B at Lugogo Cricket Oval was abandoned.

In the Bronze Group, Africa Cricket Club versus Pak Shaheens at Florida Oval also ended without a result.
