The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has urged the people of the 18 counties that form the Kingdom to rally strongly behind this year’s Buganda Masaza Cup.

Speaking ahead of the launch of the 22nd edition of the prestigious football competition at Bulange on June 10, he stated: “With the continuing divisions in politics, religion, and all spheres of life, we are left with only one avenue to unite Buganda, football. The Masaza Cup is key to this cause.”

He added, “Therefore, I am urging all people in Buganda, regardless of their backgrounds, to rally behind the Masaza Cup because no one can defeat Buganda if we are united.”
