Centurion Cricket Club’s journey to the Silver Group is complete. The side sealed promotion to the Cricket Uganda Men’s 50 Over League Silver Group after defeating Kifaru Cricket Club by six wickets in the Bronze Group semifinal playoffs at Lugogo Cricket Oval on Sunday.

Needing victory to guarantee promotion, Centurion overcame an early wobble to comfortably chase down Kifaru’s 198, reaching 202 for four in 35.5 overs.
The chase belonged to Davis Karashani. After Centurion slipped to 24 for three, Karashani produced a match-winning century, blasting 103 off just 84 balls, including 11 fours and four sixes. His aggressive innings shifted the momentum entirely in Centurion’s favour.
Karashani found a reliable partner in Brian Mark Masaba, who anchored the innings with an unbeaten 62 off 108 deliveries. The pair shared a decisive 174 run stand for the fourth wicket, taking the game away from Kifaru.
Karashani eventually fell with Centurion needing just one run, leaving Masaba and Rukiriza Emile to complete the chase and spark celebrations among the Centurion camp.
Earlier, Kifaru made a promising start after being asked to bat. Opener Utkarsh Kothari top-scored with 39, while Devansh Patel added 28 as the pair put on 64 runs for the opening wicket.
But Centurion’s bowlers steadily fought back. Rukiriza Emile claimed two wickets for 33 runs in a disciplined spell, while Martin Akayezu, Trevor Bukenya and Brian Mark Masaba picked up two wickets apiece as Kifaru were bowled out for 198 in 47.2 overs.
The victory sends Centurion into the playoff final, where they will face either Pak Shaheens Cricket Club or Tornado Cricket Club. Both finalists have already secured promotion, with the final set to decide the Bronze Group champions.
