Federation of Uganda Football Associations (FUFA) president Moses Magogo has lost his CAF Executive Committee seat as the CECAFA representative.
Magogo was up against former CECAFA and Sudan Football Association president Mutasim Gafar Sirelkhatim.
The Ugandan legislator lost 20-34 of the 54 cast votes from the football associations across the continent.
Magogo has been in the seat since 2019 when he beat Tanzania’s Leodgar Tenga by 33-19 votes.
Meanwhile, upon losing his seat on Wednesday, he has taken to Twitter to concede defeat, whilst vying to keep serving the game.
“Allah has been good to me for being the first and only Ugandan to serve as CAF Executive Committee member.”
“I concede election losing 34/20 to Sudan FA President, Dr Mutasim and I duly congratulate him.”
“I will continue to serve football at Kampala Queens, FUFA, CAF and FIFA,” Magogo added.
