Maroons FC secures Raymond Walugembe’s signature for two years

Luzira-based Uganda Premier League side Maroons Football Club has announced the signing of striker Raymond Walugembe, a dynamic 28-year-old talent.

The striker brings a wealth of experience, having previously played for Express FC in the 2022/23 season and Kyetume FC in the 2021/22 season.

Walugembe is eager to make an impact and contribute to the team’s success. With his impressive goal-scoring abilities, he is set to become a key player for Maroons FC.

He vowed to give defenders and goalkeepers a hard time, saying, “I’m here to poach. Here to achieve together with the team and score goals.”

Occupying sixth position on the Uganda Premier League table, Maroons FC will start their second-round campaign tomorrow against Bright Stars FC at home.

With 22 points from 15 games, Maroons have scored 15 goals and conceded 19. With a new striker, the side aims to improve its goal difference, which is currently negative.

“We are confident that Walugembe’s skills and determination will be a great addition to our squad. Join us in welcoming Raymond Walugembe to the Maroons family,” the club statement read.
