Following the viral inspection of Buganda Masaza Cup team’s home grounds, Organizing Committee Vice Chairperson Samuel Mpiima has confirmed that only seven grounds are ready to host the upcoming edition of the competition.
In a release, he stated, “Having inspected all the 18 county teams, teams including Ssingo, Kyaggwe, Bulemeezi, Mawokota, Buvuma, Bugerere, and Mawogola managed to meet the standards. The remaining are advised to fulfill what we instructed to put in place before the final round of inspection on May 30, and failing to fulfill this, the organizing committee will have to choose home grounds for you.”
For the 2026 competition, Ssingo will continue to host matches at Mityana Ssaza grounds, Kyaggwe again stayed at Mukono Bishops, and Bugerere maintained Ntenjeru Ssaza ground as their home ground.
Mawokota remained at Buwama Ssaza ground, Bulemeezi is continuing its stay at Kasovo grounds Kasana Luwero, Buvuma is again at Magyo Ssaza ground, and Mawogola kept themselves at Mawogola Ssaza grounds.
In confirmation, for all teams that attempt to change home ground, the proposed facility was found uncertified, with Kyadondo lining up Wampeewo Ntakke SS ground as their home following the passing of their landlord at Homisdellen.
Meanwhile, Busiro is also on the move as they are moving out of their would-be permanent home, Ssentema Ssaza grounds, to Trinity College Nabbingo. Identically, Buwekula, who has the right to host the opening game in mid-June, is also among the 11 teams that failed to certify the organizers with their home grounds.
The failed list also includes giants in Record champions Gomba, who created the thought that they are having early preparations, and Buddu, the biggest brand of the competition, with other teams such as Kooki, Busujju, Kabula, Ssese, Buluuli, and Butambala are also on the rocks.
