A1 Challenge managed a narrow 53-49 victory over Nabisunsa in the Women’s National Basketball League on Wednesday at the Lugogo Indoor Arena.
A1 made a strong start, opening an early seven-point difference as they edged the opening quarter 17-10.
However, Nabisunsa fought on and got themselves back into the contest, having won the second quarter 11-06, to trail by just two points (21-23) headed into the third quarter.
For the third quarter, Nabisunsa fell again as they lost 15-09 to A1 Challenge to open an eight-point lead (38-30).
And, despite winning the final quarter 19-15, Nabisunsa could not avoid defeat in a hugely contested affair at Lugogo.
A1 Challenge had Cathy Kekimuli to thank after a double-double of 10 points and 15 rebounds, for their second win of the second round.
