Vipers Sports Club have wrapped the signing of hardworking left-back Richard Matovu, who has joined West Nile powerhouse from Arua Hill SC.

Matovu joined the Venoms following the expiry of his contract with the Kongolo at the end of the preceding 2022/23 campaign.

The player has signed a two-year employment contract, that will see him at Kitende at least until 2025.

“I am very excited and can’t wait to work with the group,” Matovu spoke to the club media on Tuesday.

“I am happy the deal got done. I am buzzing to be here and can’t wait to get going,” he added.

“It’s a beautiful challenge that I am delighted to be a part of. I hope I can steer the club to more glory.

Matovu has been with the Arua Hill team for the last two years, playing 47 Uganda Premier League games across two campaigns, out of a possible 58.

Matovu, who comes in as a replacement for the departed Disan Galiwango, will compete for a starting berth with the already existing park of Isa Mubiru and Enock Luyima.

Matovu has also previously featured for BUL FC and Kyetume FC in the Uganda Premier League.
