Uganda Premier League champions Vipers SC have pushed further midfielder Abdul Karim Watambala‘s stay at Kitende.
The Uganda Cranes star has penned down a two-year contract extension, tying him at Kitende for the next two years.
A graduate of St Mary’s Secondary School, Kitende, Watambala has made 72 league appearances across four campaigns.
He has in the process, chipped in with seven goals in the league, including three in the preceding 2022/23 season.
He is a certified winner, as he has clinched three Uganda Premier League titles and two Uganda Cups in the past, with Vipers.
His extension is a clear indication that the Venoms intend to compete bigger in the CAF Champions League and in the domestic competitions.
The competition for midfield positions is tightening up after the club secured the services of David Bagoole.
Nzau Miguel Lutumba, Najib Yiga, Siraje Ssentamu, Bright Anukani, Marvin Joseph Youngman and youngster Abubakari Walusimbi are the other available options.
