Otim Heroric sees Amus College win the first USSSA U20 Boys football Nationals trophy

John Brian Otim stood hero as Amus College School beat Bukedea Comprehensive 1-0 in the USSSA Boys U20 football National championship final played at Lira Town College in Lira City.

The game happened on Tuesday May 19 as the climax for the championship that commenced on May 11 with 64 schools taking part.

Amus College started the championship in group C with Standard High School Ndejje, St Mark High School Kayunga, and Trinity College Abilomino.

The team under Richard Malinga who went on to defend the trophy having guided Buddo SS last year, led the group.

They went on to eliminate Jinja Progressive at the round of 32, Mentor SS at the round of 16, London College Nansana at the Quarterfinals, and St Mary’s Kitende the record champions, at the semifinals.

In the final, Amus College accomplished the motion over their neighbors Bukedea Comprehensive lying Otim’s well-taken freekick.

To endure Bukedea Comprehensive grinding, goalkeeper Usama Chagamu pulled up several saves for Amus College which played a crucial role in the trophy win.
