Saturday is fondly  known as Rugby day in Ugandan sports and the next one will be defined by five league games.

Reigning champions Heathens rugby club will travel to Kings Park Arena Bweyogerere on the opening day of the Nile Special Rugby Premier League.

The Kyadondo side will be hosted by Black Pirates at 3pm in a repeat of the Uganda Cup final that had Heathens win after normal time.

On the same road towards Kampala, an hour later, Legends and Kyadondo Rugby Clubs will have 4pm action games simultaneously.

Kampala Old Boys (KOBs) will entertain newcomers, eastern Uganda side, Walukuba in a baptism of fire in waiting encounter.

Across Jinja road, Toyota Buffaloes will play host to Rhinos in a tight contest that can go either way.

Outside Kampala, to Entebbe City, Mongers will be home as they take on a stubborn Makerere university side, Rams Rugby Club at 4pm.

Still on the shores of Lake Victoria, across River Nile, National 7s overall champions Jinja Hippos will host arrogant Makerere Impis at Dam Water Rugby Club in a battle of new jerseys.
