Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) has named the final Lady Volleyball Cranes squad for the upcoming CAVB Zone V African Nations Championship qualifiers to be held in Kampala from May 31 to June 6.
Uganda will head into the regional tournament under head coach Soita Protus and assistant coach Bwenge Eddie, who return to lead the national team.
The final squad blends experience and emerging talent as Uganda looks to make a strong impression on home court.
Experienced setter Hadijah Acelun headlines the team alongside a group of players expected to carry Uganda’s hopes in the competition.
The squad includes Katreena Odermatt, Hadijah Acelun, Catherine Ainembabazi, Claire Najuuko, Hadijah Otin, Ketty Aluka, Joan Tushemeriwe, Maureen Mwamula, Scovia Alungat, Lydia Asimo, Lisa Nakito, Jemima Lamaro, Christine Asekenye and Shamira Kalanzi.
Trainer Oboke Nicholas completes the technical team.
With Kampala hosting the qualifiers, the Lady Volleyball Cranes will be targeting a strong campaign in front of home fans as they battle for a place at the African Nations Championship.
