Nemostars Volleyball Club returned to form with a straight sets win over fellow Ugandan side Sport-S at the Africa Club Championship in Kigali.
After a tough loss to Kenya Port Authority, Nemostars responded with a calm and controlled 3-0 victory in the 9th–16th classification match at Petit Stade on Thursday.
They set the pace early, applying pressure and forcing Sport-S into mistakes. Daudi Okello and George Aporu led the attack, breaking through the defence with ease as Nemostars took the first set 25-16.
The second set was more competitive. Nemostars built a 14-10 lead, but Sport-S fought back to close the gap. Still, Nemostars stayed composed and edged it 25-22.
The final set was close, but Nemostars remained in control and sealed the win without much trouble.
The result keeps their push for a ninth-place finish alive.
