Uganda Cranes forward Steven Desse Mukwala is enjoying a fine debut season with Ghanaian giants Asante Kotoko with his latest heroics coming against Real Tamale United on Sunday.

The prolific marksman netted a brace as his side hammered Real Tamale 4-0 in the Ghana Premier League at the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, with Augustine Agyapong and Madeiros De Souza netting one apiece.

The two goals took the former Vipers SC and URA FC player to 10 league goals, one adrift of Berekum Chelsea forward and topscorer Afiriye Mezack.

Overall in his first season in professional ranks, Mukwala has netted 12 times and assisted on four occasions for the Porcupine Warriors.

On the ugly front in the Sunday bout though, Mukwala got stretchered off in the 90th minute after clashing with Tamale defender Mohammed Hardi Abdulai.

A communication is yet to be outed by Kotoko over how long Mukwala is expected to be on the sidelines.

A lengthy spell would be unpleasing news for Uganda Cranes who have a crunch Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Algeria two months away, on June 12.

Victory took the defending champions to fifth with 38 points, six adrift of leaders Aduana, who have played one game more.
