Baby Cricket Cranes head coach, Emmanuel Isaneez is adamant the Easter Youth ODI Series set to bowl off on Tuesday, 26th March at the Jinja SS Cricket Oval will give his side a firm grasp of what needs to be worked on.

The Baby Cricket Cranes who have thrice featured at the World Cup missed out on qualifying for the global showpiece last year following their dreadful performance at the U-19 World Cup Qualifiers that took place in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania.

As they begin early preparations for the next qualifiers, Isaneez is hopeful the Easter Youth ODI that will feature neighbors Kenya and Rwanda will bring to their realisation what needs to be honed.

Speaking to Uganda Cricket Association media, Isaneez said;

“The tournament will give us what to work on going forward as coaches, and it will create room for the youngsters to grow especially expose them to a competitive standard that is required to take with us to the World Cup Qualifiers.

“The squad will remain open for every talented cricketer out there so we shall keep searching and bringing in good energies into the side.”

The Series will be played in a double round robin format, and Uganda will get it started against Kenya on Tuesday.

They will seek to avenge a painful 23-run loss they suffered against the same side in Dar es Salaam.
