Makerere University Business School has lodged a complaint to the University League saying that Kyambogo used an ineligible player.

Kyambogo goalkeeper Andrew Ahebwomugisha the hero on the fateful day having saved three penalties to see his team win the shootout 4-1 is the player in question.

MUBS alleges that the said Ahebwomugisha was an impersonator and is not a student with the tertiary institute.

Before kickoff, MUBS brought up the matter of Ahebwomugisha’s identity but their opponents insisted on using the player, who turned out to be key to their win.

Kyambogo dumped MUBS out of the League at the quarterfinals stage. MUBS beat Kyambogo 2-1 in the first leg but lost with the same score at home hence heading straight into penalties.

Efforts of getting an update about the petition from the Competition’s Disciplinary Panel were all in vain by press time.

Kyambogo were drawn against St. Lawrence University in the semi-final draws and their first leg is scheduled for Tuesday, October 25 at Kavule, Masaka Road.
