Seven-time Uganda Premier League champions, Express FC became the first side to defeat BUL FC in a narrow 1-0 victory at the Muteesa II Stadium, Wakulukuku.
Star player Allan Kayiwa‘s lone first half strike and fourth goal of the season was enough for James Odoch’s side to sink their stubborn opponents at Wankulukuku.
Even then, the oil manufacturers should have had their own say in the match at the half-hour mark, but Karim Ndugwa was denied by Denis Otim with a brilliant save.
Moments later, Otim was once again called into action to deny Frank Kalanda from scoring against his former club, with another superb save.
Implications of the result and what’s next on the horizon
After six games, Express are up to fourth place on the 15-team log with 11 points, three adrift of leaders BUL who have played seven.
Express’ next game is slated for November 16th away to Busoga United FC, while BUL will play hosts to the same opponent on November 25th in a Jinja derby.
