2025/26 Uganda Premier League | Tuesday, May 12 | MD 28
- Police FC Vs Vipers SC – Police Arena, Kamwokya | 4 pm
Nine years have passed since Police FC last defeated Vipers SC at home, but as the Uganda Premier League title race tightens, the Cops believe Tuesday could finally be their moment.
At the Phillip Omondi Stadium in Kamwokya, Police FC host Vipers SC in a fixture filled with pressure and ambition.
For Vipers, the task is to complete a league double over Police and move closer to retaining the Uganda Premier League title.
For the hosts, it is a chance to prove they can finally stop the Venoms’ dominance.
Vipers head into the match searching for a response after three straight games without victory in all competitions.
The league leaders drew against KCCA FC and URA FC before settling for a goalless result against Kitara FC in the Uganda Cup.
The visitors will, however, be boosted by the return of midfielder Taddeo Lwanga from suspension.
Captain Milton Karisa remains doubtful, while defender Enock Luyima is still out with a sprained ACL injury.
With title rivals Kitara FC and KCCA FC also chasing victories on Matchday 28, Vipers know they cannot afford another slip.
Police FC, meanwhile, are targeting a strong finish to the season. Although they lost 1-0 to Calvary FC in their last outing, the Cops had earlier picked up an impressive 2-0 home win over UPDF FC.
Assistant coach Ahmed Olima believes his side is ready to end Vipers’ unbeaten run.
“It’s going to be a very interesting game because we want to finish in the top five this season, and we are under no pressure,” Olima said before the match.
“We are playing at home, which is very important for us. We have prepared one of our best plans for this game.”
Olima added that Police are determined to become the first team to beat Vipers on the field this season.
Police will welcome back Lawrence Tezikya after he missed the previous match due to family commitments. Goalkeeper Mathias Muwanga, Ivan Eyamu, Otto Daniel and Derrick Maviiri remain sidelined through injury.
History strongly favours Vipers. The Venoms cruised to a 4-1 victory in the reverse fixture at Kitende, with Karim Watambala, Milton Karisa, Odili Chukwuma and Usama Arafat on target. Saidi Kyeyune scored Police’s only goal.

Last season, Vipers also secured a 1-0 win in Kamwokya through Yunus Sentamu.
The numbers paint an even clearer picture. In 13 league meetings, Police FC have won only once, while Vipers have claimed 12 victories. The fixture has never ended in a draw.
Police believe this could be an evening they change the story, while Vipers know another win could bring them one step closer to the league title.
Elsewhere on Matchday 28, BUL FC host Lugazi FC in Njeru, Maroons FC face Entebbe UPPC at Wankulukuku, while URA FC take on Calvary FC at Nakivubo.
Later, Express FC will battle Kitara FC under the lights at Nakivubo.
