We are ready and expect no harm in game against Nte – Musu Clan Coach Farida Bulega

As the Musu Clan team is set to face the Nte Clan team in the opening match of the Bika Bya Baganda football tournament, which also doubles as the official opening of the Bika Games Championship, Musu Clan team Coach Farida Bulega confirmed that she doesn’t expect a hard time for her team during the match.

“We are ready to play a good game against the Nte Clan team. We don’t expect any problems in this game if God approves our plans. We know Nte eats grass, so we are going to mow the grass here to ensure it doesn’t get anything to eat. I encourage our fans to show up in big numbers.”

On the same note, Assistant Coach of  Nte Clan team, Ivan Ssempijja, said, “I want to inform you that our team is in good shape for the opening and the entire tournament, I remind you that we have ever won this title twice in a row,  that is why we are coming back this time different to restore the glory of our clan team.”

The match will be played on Saturday, June 2, 2026, at the Muteesa II Wankulukuku Stadium as the culmination of the 2026 Buganda Clans Games opening.

To author their pre-match statements, the coaches first attended the technical meeting held at Muteesa II Wankulukuku Stadium where the teams unveiled the jerseys they will be wearing throughout this year’s games.

At the same platform, BIFONEC Deputy Chairperson Dr. Sarah Nkonge confirmed that the preparations are complete. “Now everything is ready for the descendants of the Buganda Kingdom to come in large numbers; the entrance fee is 5000, which we hope is manageable. Long live the King!”

The games will start at 9 am with Netball being the first game to take action up to the time when Football shall commence at 3 pm with the home match of Mmamba Namakaka, the Record Champions with 10 shields, playing Ngeye.

At 5 pm, all the more than 50 clans will gather, after which the chief guest will visit the clan lines. At 6 pm, they will play Tug of War, and at 7 pm, the opening match will be played.
