  • Namuwongo Blazers 93-47 UCU Canons

Peter Obleng produced a commanding all-round display as Nam Blazers dismantled JKL Dolphins 93-47 in a dominant National Basketball League win on Saturday at Rezlife Court in Lubowa.

The Blazers were in control from the start, racing to a 25-4 lead in the first quarter and never looking back.

By halftime, they were already 27 points clear, and by the end of the third quarter, the gap had stretched to 44 points, sealing yet another one-sided win.

Obleng led the charge with a strong double-double of 23 points and 10 rebounds, setting the tone on both ends of the floor.

Nyembo Fataki added 15 points, Ivan Muhwezi chipped in 11, while Arthur Wanyoto and James Okello scored 10 points each.

Stephen Nyeko’s side, however, were wasteful from long range, missing 21 of 27 three point attempts and committing 23 turnovers, but their dominance inside the paint kept JKL under constant pressure.

For JKL Dolphins, Shane Birungi and Ichut Agot managed 10 points apiece in a tough outing as the team struggled to match the Blazers’ intensity.

Elsewhere, UPDF Lady Tomahawks beat JKL Lady Dolphins 62-45, UCU Lady Canons crushed KIU Rangers 79-27, UMU Flames edged UPDF Tomahawks 76-72, while Rezlife Saints defeated Sommet 70-65.

League action continues Sunday in Abja, Naalya with fixtures including Angels vs JKL Lady Dolphins, Miracle Eaglets vs JT Lady Jaguars, and in the men, KCCA Panthers vs UCU Canons and Sommet Vs Victoria Crocs.
