With the opening match of the 2026 Airtel Masaza Cup already played and all other counties having announced their squads since Bulemeezi set the pace in mid-May, Busiro finally unveiled its team on Wednesday, June 17, at Trinity College Nabbingo.

Busiro fans were introduced to a 31-man squad that will represent Ssebwana’s county in this year’s tournament, with the unveiling coming just days before the 2022 champions begin their campaign against record champions Gomba at TRICONA on Sunday, June 21.

The squad features several familiar faces, including Sulaiman Mutyaba, who played for Buddu last season, Michael Jinta, Busiro’s main target man in the previous campaign, and defender Felix Wafula.

Busiro has been drawn in the highly competitive Masengere Group alongside Gomba, Bulemeezi, Ssese, Mawokota and Kyaggwe. Only the top two teams from the group will secure automatic qualification to the quarterfinals.

The third-placed team will have to compete with other third-placed sides across the groups, with the two best-ranked teams completing the quarterfinal lineup.

The team will be guided by experienced head coach Simon Dungu, assisted by Yusuf Kinene, who brings significant technical knowledge and experience to the setup.
