Soltilo Bright Stars FC Technical Director Ian Mutenda has expressed his full support for new head coach Asaph Mwebaze, as the new season draws closer.
Mwebaze was appointed on a three-year employment contract ahead of the 2022/23 season under a month back, and, Mutenda is optimistic he will be a huge success.
“He is a very good proven coach,” Mutenda said after the launch of the club’s partnership with MelBet at Route256 Restaurant on Thursday.
“Mwebaze has a history of working in a certain way especially with young players.”
“The group of players that we have, we think would fit in very well with the type of coach that he is.”
“It is not just him but the entire group of coaches that we have brought on board, we do think that they will help push our players to the next level.”
“We believe that is the most important thing because at the end of the season when you are looking back, you have to say this is what we have achieved,” he added.
The tactician is a former Maroons FC, Onduparaka FC, and Nyamityobora FC coach where he pushed his track for grooming youngsters.
The Mwererwe outfit were in the relegation talk throughout last season, but eventually survived, finishing 11th on the 16-team Uganda Premier League log with 36 points.
